All Programs & Services Office of the Workers' AdvocateOffice of the Workers’ Advocate (OWA) provides free, independent services to injured workers and their survivors pertaining to decisions on their Workers’ Compensation Board (WCB) claim(s). We are not part of the Workers’ Compensation Board. Our office was established in 1973 under Section 161 of The Workers’ Compensation Act. Saskatchewan was the first jurisdiction in Canada to legislate the existence of advocacy services to assist injured workers in the complex WCB system. We are experienced in providing advocacy services and are specialists in interpreting and applying the Workers’ Compensation Act, policies and procedures. Our services include:
Client FeedbackOWA places a high priority on providing injured workers with the best advice, assistance and representation available in the area of Workers’ Compensation matters. Effective January 1, 2010, our office will provide to and request that our clients complete a Client Satisfaction Survey so that we can review and make warranted improvements to the overall service provided by our office.
